White Balance.

The images below are identical. Both are SOOC (straight out of camera). The only technique I administered to both photos is sharpen them. I achieved the different looks by adjusting the white balance. The flowers were in full shade versus direct sunlight.

Photo A, below, was taken on AWB (Auto White Balance).


Photo B, below, was taken on Shade White Balance. Even though I adjust my white balance often, it's interesting to visually see the difference side by side (or over & under, whatever :).


Visually, which photo do you prefer? Image A or image B?

    Photo B is more appealing to me. The colors seem deeper and more rich. The first one is too "bright" for my liking, and the colors seem washed out a bit.

    I prefer B, but as I go back and forth between the photos I'm not sure why!
