Turquoise/Aqua with - Forest Green?

I mentioned before that my opening foyer & living room have unpainted walls because I am unsure how to pull the colors together, considering the formal dining, which is this horrendous forest green/gold, adjoin those rooms. The foyer, as well as the living room, are done in brown/copper & turquoise/aqua. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm aware that because I'm fortunate enough to have OCD (ahem), I'm overly concerned with perfect. So today, I tossed out perfect. And added my (Goodwill, at that!) soft, aqua table runner to the table. And the brown candlesticks I painted long ago. That I thought were lacking something, but now I think they are simple & perfect. So alas, the contrasting colors will be forced to coincide. And believe it or not, I like it!

Decorating rules are made to be broken. So I did. And I will. And I'm really happy 'bout that.

Jennifer McKinney, MckMama, fraud - part III.

It absolutely delights & thrills me to type the following:

Jennifer McKinney MckMama Bankruptcy: Fraud Alleged by Trustee

To read the most recent article, yet again written by professional Tracy L. Coenen, CPA, CFF, click the link above.

People, such as Jennifer McKinney, should not be allowed to get away with fraud. And finally, it appears she has met her match. I do believe her sense of entitlement has just been shot down & stomped. A very well deserved stomp, at that.

Better put your boots on, McKinney (or do you prefer 'Sauls' now, now that your husband has left you?). Shit's gettin' deep. And real.

*Continue to watch Tracy's site, as she continues to post McKinney updates when new facts become available. I believe she has two more new blog posts available after she posted this one, & I don't always get the links up in a timely manner.

Moments.

My dirty little hang up.

Pun intended.

I've really never thought about sharing this little tidbit about myself until recently, when my husband cracked me up. Not many people know this about me - but I hang up on people. A lot, a lot. Yes. I hang up on people & I have done it since I was young. Now typically, I only hang up on people when they agitate me (but that is no guarantee). Nonetheless, I'm a hanger upper. And it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

When I was a teenager (15 or so?), my oldest brother phoned our home while he was stationed in Germany. He woke me up. I didn't like that. I didn't really care that he was phoning from Germany. I hung up on him. Truth be told, I can't even begin to count the number of times I've hung up on various people.

A few of you do know this about me - I hate talking on the phone. Loved it when I was young, hate it now that I'm not as young. ;o) Probably because for the last 20 years, my husband has called me so often, I claim he harasses me. And he does. And I despise it. And he thinks it's funny. And 9 times out 10, I hang up on him. I've done it for 20 years now. Sometimes if I'm really feisty, I'll throw the phone across the room. I buy the cheapest phones because we go through many. Ahem.

Recently, however, the tables turned. I phoned him. Then, I needed to phone him again. Then, I needed something else & I phoned him again. All in a 10 minute span. Then I said "how do you like it?" :)

After we hung up, the phone rang. I knew it was him & it was. So I answered, he started laughing, I didn't, & I told him I already knew it was him being funny. Then he said "yeah, but watch this". Click.

He hung up on me! Bwahaha! Oh goodness, I laughed so hard! As you all know, I am the witty one, but every now & then, he gets a good one in. I was proud of him.

So there you go. I have no idea why I just shared all that, so do with it what you may. Just don't call me.

Salma Hayek & Shaklee!

The boobs are a little much. But the dress?

Rich, sophisticated & stunning! ♥

**********

And when I haven't been doing that, I have been researching Shaklee products like crazy! I have wanted to try them for a few years now & then for whatever reason, I let it go. Until my friend Tricia (who does not sell Shaklee) recently used their dishwasher product & posted the results. Wow! And that alone - sold me (again)! I am now a Shaklee Distributor! Yay! I'm so excited!

JLo. Flawless.

The dress. The earrings. The hair. The makeup. How each complements the other.

I'm not a huge JLo fan. But I think this photo is stunning.

Gorgeousness.

2012 Met Gala - lets talk dresses!

I've read that the Met Gala is often referred to as the "Oscars of Fashion"; the "Met Costume Gala is the biggest fashion event of the year". Fun! I can't imagine getting all dolled up for an event such as this. So much fun! Today, I was able to peek at the dresses. I love some pretty dresses! They make my heart go pitter pat. ♥

Truth be told, I was a little disappointed! Out of all the dresses I viewed, there were really only a handful that I thought were truly beautiful. I definitely saw some icky ones. I'll start with those. These are my opinions only -

This dress cracks me up. It's like it's screaming "look at me & my two teeny tiny, itty bitty little boobies squished prim & proper in this big ol' dress!"

Ok, this black dress looks like one of those Great Tailed Grackle birds with a honkin' black toupee attached to the bottom.

And what the hell is this thing? A sheet? Is it inside out or right side out? Did some buttons fall off? Is it just a pattern? Does it matter?

The Barney dress. It's really not that bad, but the train's too long. And her boobs are sagging too low. It's such a light, pretty dress - until you get to the bottom! This sucker looks heavy! I can just picture this little lady trying to climb stairs - heaving & hoing with all she's got, pulling that sucker along, hoping she makes it to the top.

Kitchen curtains meets young starlet.

Oh my gosh. This one. Have you ever seen the Barbie cakes? Where Barbie's plastic body is the upper half of the cake, & the lower half is the huge, round, decorated cake? They resemble this dress. Except the Barbie cakes are prettier.

I don't know what to say about this dress. Other than if she would have worn black lipstick, her face would have blended in perfectly!

Now. There's only a few select individuals who can successfully wear what I call, the boob plunge. And she ain't one of them. Getting older sucks, girl, I know. But come on. Zip it up a little.

Wouldn't she look pretty taped to the top of a birthday present? No?

What. The. Eff. Mary Poppins? Layered apricot poodles?

Hideous. Lampshade. Is that a net on her head?

Ok. This looks like bottle caps glued on coasters, strung together, fastened to her undies. And her heels are just darling. Or disgusting.

Look here. I'm sure you didn't notice, but peek at her crotch area. How uncomfortable can that be? Her britches look like the young guys who currently are wearing their pants past their behinds. She thought this was a good look on her? And it looks like it itches!

Hi Grandma! I guess the positive I can find is that her hair color is in the same color family! Um, no.

Good Lord have mercy, more sheets. Honestly, I can not stand JSP. I cringe when I see her. Reasons such as this are probably why. And I'm assuming her beautician was out of town. As always.

LOL! What in the hell is this? The boobless one looks terrified, while the big, metallic one...well...LOL. Hilarious!

One tiny Olsen + mugging of the Pope + hijacking a japanese kimono + dyed their attire black = her dress for the night. So disrespectful.

Now this color, I love! And all is well from the neck down. A little stuffy & safe, but pretty. But from the neck up? Princess Leia, iz that u? Where'z your bunz?

This, is gorgeous. This is gorgeous on her. (Wrong lipstick color.) But the pom poms & black chiclets ruin the dress.

Lace curtains/ lace doilies/mosquito netting with purple grapes peeking through. Yeah.

O.M.G. It's blinding & it looks like a Pokemon figurine. 'Nuff said.

This is ill-fitting dress coupled with pink shoes (?) = disaster.

Excuse me - I cannot refrain. What the fuck is this? Is she blind? Does she have friends? Are those shoelaces?????

I'm confused. Is it a dress wearing July 4th or is it a 8 year's old wallpaper?

One of Hollywood's most famous couples. Him, acceptable. Her? This is the best she could do? What I noticed first is actually the hem of the dress. Doesn't it look like it was too long, they were out of time, so they just folded the edge under & fastened it with straight pins? And the shoes? All of it. Epic fail.

Beyonce. I watched Entertainment Tonight tonight (heehee) & they voted her 'best dressed'. To me, it looks like someone stepped on her train while she was still walking & it shredded & separated the dress.

Maybes:

The more I look at this one, the more I like it. But the train's too long.

Julianne Hough. I really love her. Or I did, until she got a little big for her britches. Anyway, lately, every time I see her, she looks different to me. Maybe her face is maturing? Nonetheless, she's wearing my favorite color.

Beautiful & sophisticated. Divine color. But it looks hot & heavy. And not in a way we all enjoy. Ahem.

Both hairstyles = ew. Dress? Maybe. Maybe not.

I actually love this dress! But the color is too drab. Too washed out. Glorious style!

I also love this dress! Love it! But not on her. I think it would look fab on a brunette - would bring the dark beading out in the dress. Adore the style!

And the few I really loved:

Like: Simple. Classy. Beautiful color. Dislike: Her hair.

Like: So elegant! Dislike: None.

Like: Gorgeous color. Sassy style. Dislike: None.

Like: Beautiful. Unique color. Shiny. Dislike: None.

Drumroll please! My absolute FAVORITE?????

Tada! Jessica Alba! Love, love, love! Exquisite! Gorgeous color! Soft & flowing! Rich! Amazing. ♥

That was fun!

The end.

Smashbox lipgloss versus Bonnie Bell lipgloss.

Here's another scenario that proves my theory - one does not have to spend a lot of money on makeup to look glamorous. I don't care what anybody else says. They're wrong. And I know everything, so I must be right. Ha!

Ah, shiny lips. Beautiful, yummy, shiny lips. I'd sure like some. Without the sticky.

In December, I splurged. I spent $18 & bought this:

Only to return it after Christmas because, ew! It was icky, sticky gross. Loved the color & application - hated the sticky. Fast forward to yesterday. Browsing the makeup at Walmart. Because, that's where I get all of my makeup. Walmart. Or any drugstore, really. Anyway, I yet again decided I'd like to attempt some sticky-free shiny gloss. I've tried a few different brands, but had no luck. As I was picking up some Lipsmackers (a must have in most rooms of my house!), I spotted this for $2.94. Might as well give it a try, for a mere $3. Not out much if the end result is as horrid as the others. (That's not a crack in the lid - that's their design. There's one on the other side, too.)

Guess what? LOVE! Pretty shine with little to no sticky! I really couldn't believe it. But it's great! I did notice the color fades sooner than the shine does. I don't recall them having a huge selection in colors, but a darker color might work better or, this might be a gloss that can be worn on top of lipstick. I'll try that next.

So. Let's sum this up real quick. The professional, expensive brand for $18 was gross. The drugstore, inexpensive brand for $3 rocks! Tough call, heh? Finding the right makeup products takes time & trial & error. But what it doesn't take, is a lot of money to look & feel beautiful! And that, is priceless. :)

(A few months ago I had a friend tell me about Sephora's brand of gloss. Kriss loves it & says it's not sticky. I actually picked some up on Friday night, for $10. Because our flood mishap that happened on Saturday, I haven't opened it yet. Now? I'll be returning it simply because $3 is cheaper than $10. Thanks Kriss!)

Again my opinion - it doesn't matter if you purchase expensive, professional brand makeup or drugstore, less expensive brand makeup. If you don't know how, &/or don't take the time to apply it properly, it's not going to look good. Brand has nothing to do with how one wears their makeup.

Happy beautifying!
