Israel McKinney - reunited with his children.

I'm not going to keep my mouth shut on this one because as far as I'm concerned, I was right! Isreal has not seen his kids (she says, anyway) for six months. Six long, miserable, hurtful months. Down deep, I just knew it couldn't have been his choice. For a few years now, that man has been both the mother & father to those five children. He was their caretaker, while she unnecessarily paraded her ass around the country, ridding her children at every opportunity. We saw on videos how he interacted with them. We heard his tone of voice with them. We saw in photos. I just couldn't see how a father, who loved his children so very much, could just pick up & leave. Disappear. It just never made sense. And then, when I heard myself how she lied & tricked & deceived him in their bankruptcy hearing - I was "Team Iz" even more. He's not her. I don't think the guy is completey innocent by any means, but I think Jennifer McKinney lied & manipulated her own husband, just like she has (& does) everyone else.

So today, I read this update from her:

"Well, for the first time since the beginning of the year, the kids and I saw MckDaddy this week. It was a very important milestone for the children. For me and my husband, too. All of the things I was sort of worried about regarding seeing him again ended up being non issues. The kids had the most wonderful, relaxing, lovely, extended, fun and perfect time hanging out with their daddy at last. I couldn’t have asked or hoped for it to have gone any better. I can’t focus on the past, for what will that do? So I rejoice that he has moved close to us and will be seeing the kids regularly now. Thankful, peaceful, glad, happy. Still neither of us know what lies ahead. And I don’t suppose that we need to know right now."

I knew it. I knew it! She packed those children up, moved them four or so hours away, took away their father, to punish HIM! I knew there was no way he would intentionally leave his kids. She knew she could do it, she knew he didn't even have a reliable vehicle that could transport him back & forth, she knew he was working his butt off to make as much money as he could. And she took advantage of it. She ripped her children's hearts out all to punish her husband. Because obviously, he made the choice to not live her disgusting life anymore.

And now, he's moved. It took six months, but he relocated his life to where she lives. All for his children. I can't even express how proud I am of him. Of a stranger. I commend him beyond words & I'm even more happy for his children. I can only imagine how ecstatic they must be. Their daddy is back. Maybe not in the same house, but in the same area. In their lives. Their security has been reinstated. They need that so very, very much. And some day they will learn that it was, in fact, not their father, but it was their mother who made the conscious effort to hurt them. Heck, some day, they're going to learn more about their mother than they ever wanted to know.

He did what he had to do to make things right. Kudos, Israel McKinney. Kudos. I hope you have an amazing summer with your children!

Shaklee clean - it's a miracle!

Let me preface this post by stating I have never seen my stove burners white. We have now lived in this home 6 1/2 years & until now - never seen them white. Or even beige. Ha!

To be totally honest with you, I don't even know how burners could possibly get in this horrific condition. Is it solely due to not cleaning? Which is what my husband thinks. Or, letting foods boil over? Plain ol' filth? I don't know. I keep my appliances in spotless condition (you should too! We cook/prepare our food in those!) & for the last 6 1/2 years, I've had to look at the suckers. And use them. The good news is that although they're grossly stained, they are clean.

When we first moved in, (of course) I attempted to clean them. I can't remember the cleaners I tried, except for the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser being my last attempt. I do believe, at that time, I actually heard Mr. Clean himself cringe. After that, I gave up. The burners themselves work fine, so there was no need replacing them and we weren't even sure if we could order new ones due to the age of the stove. I have been so embarrassed when we've had guests over. I know people have noticed them (who wouldn't?) & I've never thought to tell anyone that they were in this condition when we purchased the home. All of our guests probably think I let them get that way. Ew. I think I'll post the photos of Facebook so all of my relatives can see that I was not the guilty party. :)

Last night around 11:00 p.m., as I was headed to bed, I noticed my Shaklee Scour Off sitting next to my stove. So, I grabbed my sponge (I use the Scotch Brite sponges with the scrub pad on the back), a tad of Scour Off & went to scrubbing.

Let me now introduce you to my nasty burners. Yes, the white area (on the large burner; I accidentally focused on the wrong burner & the spot on the back burner is just a glare from the light) is where I used Scour Off.

Here is an up close:

Wow! I wondered what it would look like after I devoted more time. So today, while the kids were eating lunch, I sprayed Shaklee Degreaser around the edge & let it sit while I washed some dishes. When I was done washing, because Shaklee is all natural, I just wiped it off! The degreaser alone removed a lot of the built on grime:

I couldn't believe it. Even still icky, I've never seen it that clean/color! Then I grabbled my sponge & Scour Off & began scrubbing. After a while, I switched to my kitchen scrub brush (which has a little edge of very firm bristles) & scrubbed some more. I worked on this particular burner for 10-15 minutes (at the most!) & this was the end result:

Unbelievable! I was even able to scrape off the crap that was burned on in the very center of the burner! For 6 1/2 years we have all looked at these nasty, unacceptable burners & after 15 minutes, it is white. White! Certainly not perfect, but considering the amount of time they have been so horrible (who knows the actual years they've been in this condition!), I think the results are phenomenal!

Below is another photo of both burners & you can really see the difference. Remember, the large burner was in the exact condition of the smaller burner.

Just another reason I am now completely committed to Shaklee!

And now - I get the pleasure of cleaning the rest of the burners. Oy!

Containerize your toiletries!

Clutter is really starting to bother & overwhelm me. So, I'm doing what I can, where I can, to declutter. On that note, I thought I'd share something I began doing some time ago that has made the clutter in my bathroom minimal.

I actually containerized my most used toiletries when our bathroom renovation began. I needed all of my items totable, so I could easily remove them from my bathroom when I didn't want the renovation mess all over them. Now, I'll never have my toiletries any other way.

Obviously, it creates one space for items, versus being spread all over the counter. Which is how mine always used to be. I never used to put away my toiletries unless visitors were coming over. Now, I can just pick up the container & stick it in a cabinet. Easy peasy. Also, super easy for cleaning. Again, I just pick the sucker up & move it.

And no, this isn't all of my products. These are just the items I currently use. I still have 4,824 additional items in my bathroom cabinet. Ok. Maybe that number is just a tad high.

Maybe most of you already do this. It's proven daily that I am such a slow learner. I didn't want the internet (seriously), I didn't want an iPhone, I didn't use a dishwasher for years & I just learned the other day (no joke!) that I don't have to wash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Etc., etc.

Happy containerizing!

My new endeavor - SHAKLEE!

Well for crying out loud - have I not shared this information yet on my blog?

Shaklee. Amazing all natural products for health & home. Love. Love, love, love!

Thus far, I am completely endorsing & focusing on Shaklee's Get Clean line. I can't purchase fast enough & I can't clean fast enough! I discovered Shaklee a few years ago. Then I forgot about it. I am kicking myself that I did not purchase at that time! Tricia (thank you Tricia!) reintroduced me to Shaklee & this time, I jumped. And jumped so hard, I became a Distributor! I wish I would have known about Shaklee years & years ago, seriously. If I had, maybe my family wouldn't have suffered so severely with allergies and/or reactions to chemicals.

I have a lot planned. Lots of before & afters showing how well these natural products work. Totally safe, totally green, totally work! No chemicals, no fumes, no dust clouds, no gagging! I may be many things, but a 'salesperson' I am not. Until now. Now I am. (Actually, I'm not. And I won't be. Only because - Shaklee products sell themselves - they are that good!)

I've attempted to go green before. It started years ago, right after I had Swiffered my floors. I remember. When I was finished, all of my kids got sick. Related? I don't know. But right then & there, I loaded up all of my cleaning supplies (including laundry detergents) & sent them to work with my husband. I bought books. I researched & googled like crazy. I bought all natural supplies. And then my husband & myself got MRSA. Numerous times. Nothing I care to ever repeat in my life! I then switched back to chemicals, because that was the only thing that killed the Staph. Blah, blah, blah - I will never venture away from Shaklee cleaning products. And yes, they have products that disinfect. Kills more bacteria than Lysol.

Interested? Here's my Shaklee website:

Go browse & read, if you want to. My website is still generic, as I haven't had time to personalize it yet. I will get to it soon, as well as including a Shaklee button or banner link on my blog. My children are now out of school for the summer & we have an appraisal Monday morning that I am preparing for. My time is limited & that's ok. However long it takes, 'cause I'm not going anywhere. Neither is Shaklee. :)
